Here we are – some of the photos from our display on Saturday 7 November 2015 at Langley Park School for Girls for the school’s PSA and Rotary Club of West Wickham and Langley Park School for Girls. What looked like a record crowd attended – around 4,000 people – making it one of the best displays in the area. One spectator described it as one of the best displays he has ever seen while another called it “fantastic!”. We even had dancing to Madonna!
In September we ran a training day for some parents from Hazelwood School for their display. Well, it was last night and it was great. We went down to be nosy and (ahem) donate some extra items…. Excellent display and everything was spot on. Have a look at some of the photos below and through our Facebook page.
Yesterday’s display at St David’s went hugely well – great comments from the audience, one of the best we have ever done there in a relationship with the school that stretches back the last 50 years including 40 years helping with or organising their annual fireworks display.
Some of the set up shots below with more to come once we’ve finished editing the videos!
So… just gearing up for the November season. Our first show is out at St David’s College in West Wickham on Sunday 1 November. This is a long-standing private display for the school’s PTA and one with special significance for us as the Knights of Fire team are either are Old Davidians or have had children at the school.
In different ways we have had a link to the school for the last 50 years and 40 years helping with or organising their annual fireworks display.
The evening features two firework displays set to music, enjoy the barbecue and warm yourself up with some mulled wine.
Gates open at 5.30pm with the first fireworks display at 6.30pm. Then there is a short break (while you refuel on food and drinks) followed by the second display. Bonfire is lit around around 7:45pm.
Entrance on the night £5.50 per child and £7.00 per adult. There are limited tickets available.
Last weekend we put on our Category 3 fireworks training day for the fireworks team at Hazelwood School. The school has its own display and we were delighted to help out with the training for the new team.
The day comprised a classroom session covering types of fireworks, fireworks and hazard type classifications, Net Explosive Content, fireworks storage, display site planning, notifications, types of fuses, display design, risk assessments, fireworks prep, display site set up, personal protective equipment and firing equipment, de-rigging, and clear up. Then the team were let loose on a decent lot of material and they then designed, prepped and fired a five minute show. Chris ran the classroom work while Nick rigged up some examples of good and bad practice and did some practical demonstrations.
Good luck to the guys for the November display. We might turn up and watch 🙂
We have a great piece of video of the closing display immediately below, including music by Suburban Star, footage from the crowd as well as aerial shots courtesy of Stephen Sangster. If you are planning your festival or event for 2016 then talk to us about how we can add a great fireworks finale!
Stephen has produced his own video of the day, which you can see below:
Had a fantastic night at Priory Live on Saturday. Plenty of social media action saying how awesome the event was. We are assembling our photos and a full report in the next few days but here are some photos from the set up and a sneak preview of the 665 shot cake going off…
